About The Arc of Greater Tarrant County
The Arc of Greater Tarrant County is a 501(c)3, non profit organization that has worked to improve the quality of life for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The Arc of Greater Tarrant County was founded in 1949 by a group of parents who wished to discuss educational needs for their children. Our services include advocacy, information and referral, parent and professional education, public education and fun activities and classes.
To advocate for the rights and inclusion of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families to improve the quality of their lives; to unite in action and community involvement; and to empower through services and opportunities.
A community in which all members are valued and have something to do, something to love and something to look forward to.
Eligibility for services
No proof of disability is required to receive Arc services, most of which are free or available at a low cost. Our slogan emphasizes the commitment we make to individuals and families to help build bridges for an improved quality of life for all ages and ability levels.
